BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
What a busy time it is for lovely lady Maurya Hogan as she celebrates her 80th birthday which is tomorrow May 8! Cootamundra friends marked her milestone with a SPECIAL party recently and her husband Cliff and ‘beautiful children’ John, Paul, James, Annette, Margaret and Kate have such a TOP week arranged, culminating in a GRAND family party this weekend.
Couldn’t be happening to a nicer lady - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAURYA.
Maurya (front left) is her pictured with close friends (back from left) Bev Muscat, Eric Fisher, Leo Hogan and Jo Hogan, (front) Alice Knappett and Maurya’s husband Cliff.
HAPPY 50th
The staff at Cootamundra SUPA IGA did so enjoy ‘making a fuss’ yesterday for top lady Michelle Collingridge on the occasion of her 50th birthday. Michelle is on the staff there working in the office.
Also enjoying yesterday with Michelle was her lovely mum Yvonne Collingridge.
HAPPY BIRHTDAY MICHELLE.
CAKE STALL FRIDAY
This Friday Can Assist will be conducting a CAKE STALL outside the Westpac Bank.
The ladies will have for sale Mother’s Days gifts, plants, cakes and a host of other goodies to ‘tempt your taste buds’.
Donations of any saleable items would be most appreciated.
Feel free to call at the Lions van any time after 9am.
THE YARRA TRIO
This Friday night at the Cootamundra Arts Centre, the Yarra Trio will be performing and it is advised to head down to ART FX and pick up your ticket so as not to miss out.
The concert, with Holly on violin, Chris on cello and Stefan on piano, commences at 7.30pm.
After the performance a light supper will be served.
THEN, on Monday next at the Arts Centre ‘Proms for Preps Concert’ will take place. This ‘most enlightening’ concert is for Kindergarten to Year 4 children.
Having attended this with my grandson last year, I sum it up as an unforgettable outing, enjoying the delight of the children as they not only watched
performers with musical instruments BUT were also allowed to ‘touch and feel’ the various
instruments after the performance.
CAR BOOT SALE
This Saturday the Sacred Heart Central School P & F will be holding a Car Boot Sale. Commencing at 8am and running to noon, there will be an entry fee to sell your wares, BUT FREE entry for buyers (entry via secondary playground, Sutton Street).
There will also be refreshments available and a cake stall LOADED with goodies (handy to perhaps buy goodies for Mother’s Day afternoon tea).
A PROUD DAY
Local girl Amanda Corby is here pictured after her graduation from Armidale University, which took place on Saturday, April 12.
Amanda, who is the daughter of Cootamundra couple Ralph and Heather Corby, graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Nursing Studies and she is now employed as an RN with the Greater Southern Area Health Service, completing a
transitional period of 12 months - six months at the Young Hospital and six months at the Cootamundra Hospital.
Proudly present at Amanda’s graduation were her parents, her daughter Indya, partner Geoff,
sister Marrette, who flew from Hobart, and
brother Stephen who travelled from his home in Canberra.
CONGRATULATIONS AMANDA.
