Wishing Michael Vesperman a member of staff at Target Country a very HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY. His birthday was yesterday September 25 and rumour has it his mum and dad Debbie and Peter Vesperman will be hosting ‘something special’ to mark this milestone. HAVE FUN MICHAEL.
BRETT’S 18TH
It was a fun filled time last Saturday night when Brett Carberry celebrated his 18th birthday at a party hosted by his parents Diann and Col Carberry, of Temora Street.
Brett who attended the Cootamundra High School is now residing in Canberra where he is a second year apprentice builder. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRETT
COOTA PIES
Well, earlier this week on the national morning television programme ‘Sunrise’ guess what rated a mention? None other than the Cootamundra pies produced by those ‘TOP COOKS’ at the Cootamundra Butchery.
Mel and Kochie were asking for anyone around Australia who had a favourite spot to buy the best pies to e-mail their story. I missed the name of the local who rated a mention on the program when telling how the Cootamundra Butchery did THE BEST potato top pies. A discussion followed on the ‘shepherd’s pie’ and Cootamundra was given a good plug!
Called to tell the girls at the Cootamundra Butchery of their national mention and did you know that their famous pies have even travelled to England - a few years ago I carried one all the way to Hong Kong much to the delight of son Paul and family!
OPEN GARDENS
Just giving everyone ‘plenty of notice’ of the upcoming Open Gardens set to take place on Sunday, November 2. Once again to be hosted by the Sacred Heart Central School P & C these ‘enthusiastic’ ladies have five of ‘the best’ gardens around Cootamundra lined up for us to ENJOY. More details at a later date.
‘THE KELLY GANG’
The reunion for all ex-students of the Cootamundra Catholic Schools is happening next weekend with former students travelling from all over Australia.
Members of the organising committee were telling me this week that ‘the Kelly gang’ is returning. And who are the Kelly gang? The children of the late Bob Kelly, a plumber who resided in upper Hovell Street back in the late 1940’s, will be returning for the re-union.
Martin Kelly and his wife will be travelling from Townsville, Bob Kelly and his son from Adelaide, Doris Matthews, from Kiama and Joyce Kelly (a Carmelite nun) will be travelling from Melbourne. What a SPECIAL time it will be for them.
THEME NIGHT
The Stockinbingal School P & C is holding a “Something a little different theme night” on Saturday, October 25 at Ellwoods Hall, Stockinbingal.
The concept is easy, get yourself a table of 10 friends together then get a theme drawn up. After organising that part of the event, make a booking at the school, turn up at the hall beforehand to do up your area of the hall accordingly and look forward to winning prizes for the best dressed table and guests at the table.
There will also be HEAPS of games and good music happening, so come along and have a great night out in the village of Stockinbingal.
MISSING YOUR KEYS?
We have received a report from the Post Office that someone has left their set of 18 keys on the counter there. If they are yours do call into the Post Office and claim them.
