EA Southee School students will today grab their skipping ropes in an attempt to skip into the Guiness Book of Records.
The record attempt will mark the 25th anniversary of the Heart Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart.
The current record for skipping, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, was set in the United Kingdom in 2006 where 7632 participants skipped at various locations for three consecutive minutes with breaks of no more than 10 seconds.
EA Southee’s Jump Rope for Heart Coordinator Tracey Gough said, the world record attempt EA Southee is
participating in today will is a unique opportunity for the school children to make history.
More than 29,000 students from more than 180 schools across NSW are
expected to take part in the attempt.
The record jump will take place at exactly 11.30 Eastern Standard Time, with the majority of the school taking part in the record attempt.
